The Olivet College wrestling team has received the 2003 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar Award. The Fighting Comets compiled a 3.41 team grade point average (GPA), which ranked second in NCAA Division III. Milwaukee School of Engineering in Wisconsin had the top GPA at 3.50.
Freshman 197-pounder Justin Torres (Holly High School) earned NCAA All-American honors with his sixth-place finish on March 7-8 at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships at Ohio Northern University.
The Olivet College wrestling team is sending two wrestlers to the 2003 NCAA Division III National Championships this Friday-Saturday, March 7-8, at Ohio Northern University.

The Olivet College wrestling team finished in second place out of seven teams today at the 17th Annual John Summa Tournament hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College. Brockport State of New York won the team championship with 176.50 points and the Fighting Comets were second with 90 points.
The Olivet College wrestling team had a 1-1 record today at the 21st Annual Monon Bell Wrestling Classic at Wabash College. The Fighting Comets fell to Lincoln (Mo.) University, 33-9, in the first round before defeating Wabash, 22-15. Olivet then fell to Millikin (Ill.) University, 25-15, in the fifth place dual match.
The Olivet College wrestling team finished in 10th place out of 19 teams today at the North Central College Tournament. Coe College of Iowa won the tournament championship with 132.5 points. The Fighting Comets had 59.5 points.
The Olivet College wrestling team finished in eighth place out of 11 teams today at the Simpson College Tournament.

The Olivet College wrestling team wrestling team defeated Lawrence University of Wisc., 25-20 and Lakeland College of Wisc., 42-6, on Friday night.
The Olivet College wrestling team finished in second place with a 3-1 record today at the 2002 Comet Duals at MacKay Gymnasium. The Comets defeated Rose-Hulman (Ind.), 43-0; Millikin (Ill.), 37-7 and Bethel (Ind.), 44-6 before falling to Simpson (Iowa), 31-16.
The Olivet College wrestling team opened its 2002-03 dual match season with a 22-13 win against University of Chicago at MacKay Gymnasium. In the win, the Comets won six of ten bouts.
