Wrestling Team Finishes in First Place at the Lawrence (Wisc.) University Invitational

APPLETON, WISC. -- The Olivet College wrestling team finished in first place (of seven teams) today at the Lawrence University Invitational. The Fighting Comets finished with 96 points. Lawrence was second with 70.5 points and Wheaton (Ill.) College was third with 50 points.

The first-team for the Fighting Comets had four champions, three second-place finishers and two third-place finishers. The championships included freshman 125-pounder Kefentse Mandisa (Westland/ John Glenn High School), senior 141-pounder Jacob Stenz (Alpena High School), sophomore 157-pounder Jesse Grenillo (Holly High School) and freshman 197-pounder Justin Torres (Holly High School).  Grenillo won his championship match with a pin in 4:28

The Olivet second-teamers were also successful with two wrestlers finishing in third and another one finishing in second place.

The Comets are idle until next Friday-Saturday, Dec. 13-14 when they travel to Terre Haute, Ind., to participate in the Rose-Hulman Duals.
