After losing the first game 2-1, the Comets rallied to win the nightcap, 4-3 in eight innings. With the win in game two, Olivet beat Hope for the first time since March 31, 2004.

In the first game, Olivet (7-16, 2-5 MIAA) scored a run in bottom half of the seventh inning to win, 1-0. In the second game, Calvin (8-19, 2-8 MIAA) scored two runs in the fourth inning and hung on for a 3-1 win.

The Olivet College softball team split a doubleheader with Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College in its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) and home-opener today in Olivet. In the first game, the Comets rallied to beat the Belles, 6-5, in 10 innings. Saint Mary’s won the second game, 10-2.

The Olivet College softball team opened the northern portion of its schedule this afternoon and was swept in a non-conference doubleheader by Grand Valley State University. The Lakers, ranked No. 7 in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll, won by scores of 3-0 and 9-0.

The Olivet College softball team dropped two games today at the Gene Cusic Classic inside the Cape Coral Sports Complex in Fort Myers, Fla. In their first game, the Comets were defeated by Pine Manor (Mass.) College, 5-2. In the nightcap, Olivet fell to New Jersey City University, 5-3.

The Olivet College softball team evened its overall record to 4-4 with two wins this morning inside the Northwest Complex at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. The Comets defeated the College of Wooster (Ohio), 6-3, and Eastern Nazarene (Mass.) College, 6-1.

In their first game, the Comets shutout Lesley (Mass.) University, 4-0, and in the nightcap, Olivet used some help from “mother nature” to beat Ohio Wesleyan University, 4-3, in eight innings.

The Olivet College softball team opened its 2008 season with a pair of two-run losses today at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. In their first game, the Comets fell to Elms College, 6-4, in nine innings, and in their second game, St. Joseph’s College of Maine posted a 7-5 win.
