Men's soccer team shuts out Kalamazoo, 2-0
The Olivet College men’s soccer team shutout Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Kalamazoo College, 2-0, today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet. With the win, the Comets beat the Hornets for the first time since Oct. 22, 2005 and for only the third time in the last 10 years.

The Olivet College men's soccer team shutout Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Kalamazoo College, 2-0, today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet. With the win, the Comets beat the Hornets for the first time since Oct. 22, 2005 and for only the third time in the last 10 years.
Olivet scored the only goal it would need in the 15th minute. Sophomore Mike May (Mason) buried a shot into the back of the net after freshman receiving a pass from freshman Anthony Sovis (Williamston). With 4:44 left in the game, senior Graham Lockwood (Haslett/Williamston) tallied an unassisted goal.
For the game, the Comets finished the game with 16 shots, including seven for Lockwood. Sophomore keeper Ethan Felsing (Mason) faced seven shots and made four saves in recording his first shutout of the season.
Olivet is back in action Saturday when it hosts Trine (Ind.) University at approximately 2 p.m. in the second game of a women's/men's soccer doubleheader
