Baseball team swept at Oakland, 19-10 and 5-4

The Olivet College baseball team was swept by NCAA Division I foe Oakland University today in a non-conference doubleheader at the OU Baseball Field in Rochester. The two games were contrasting styles, as the Grizzlies won a slugfest for the first game, 19-10, and then won a pitcher’s duel in the nightcap, 5-4, in eight innings.

Junior Beau Felix (Hartland) went 7-for-7 at the plate and junior Ben Kosmalski (Canton/Plymouth) hit a walk-off home run in the eighth inning of the nightcap to lead the Olivet College baseball team to a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader sweep over Alma College, 12-5 and 6-5, today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

For the second straight day, the Olivet College baseball team has split a doubleheader with Calvin College. In today’s games at the Calvin Field in Grand Rapids, Calvin won game 7-5 before the Comets bounced back to win the second game, 8-2.

The Olivet College baseball team lost a pair of close games to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet. The Britons scored three runs in the sixth inning to pull out a come-from-behind 3-2 win in game one, and scored five times in the third inning en route to a 6-4 win in the nightcap.

The Olivet College baseball team fell to Kalamazoo College, 7-6, today in the first game of a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader at Woodworth Field in Kalamazoo. With the score tied at 4-4 in the second inning, the second game was suspended because of rain.
