Cross country teams earn academic honor from USTFCCCA
The Olivet College men’s and women’s cross country teams have earned All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. In addition, junior Allyson Schultz was named USTFCCA All-Academic team.
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams have earned All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. In addition, junior Allyson Schultz was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team.
To receive this honor, teams must have had a team cumulative team grade point average (GPA) of 3.10 or higher for the fall semester. Under the leadership of head coach Karen Lutze, the Comet men had a team cumulative GPA of 3.52 and the women had a cumulative GPA of 3.49. Both teams are receiving this honor for a fifth straight year.
To be named to the individual All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and finish in the top 25 percent at their respective regional. Schultz carries a 3.99 GPA in actuarial science and placed 43rd of 243 runners at the NCAA DIII Great Lakes Regional.
