Men’s and women’s cross country teams finish in sixth- and ninth-place at MIAA Jamboree
The Olivet College cross country teams participated in the 2013 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree today at the Lenawee Christian High School in Adrian. The men's team tied for sixth-place, while the women were ninth.
ADRIAN, Mich. – The Olivet College cross country teams participated in the 2013 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree today at the Lenawee Christian High School in Adrian. The men's team tied for sixth-place, while the women were ninth.
Sophomore Greg Lutzke paced the men's team, as he finished 19th out of 112 runners. He completed the 8K course in 27:19. Freshman Blake Wilson was 49th with a time of 28:54, followed by junior Jalen Weaver in 60th with a time of 29:10. Sophomore Tyler Britten finished the race in 29:37, while junior Andrew Benkovsky had a time of 30:01.
Sophomore Brittany Hayes was the top finisher for the women's team. She placed 65th out of 122 runners, completing the 6K course in 26:32. Freshman Jacklyn Yates was next in 27:51. Senior Anna Krausz was not far behind in 28:23, followed by sophomore Danielle Marsh and freshman Raelyn Rasegan in 29:37 and 30:26, respectively.
The MIAA Jamboree counts 1/3 of the total towards the final placement in the MIAA standings. The other 2/3 will be the MIAA Championship Meet Nov. 2 at Hope College.
