Cross country teams compete at Spartan Invitational
The Olivet College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed this morning at the Manchester (Ind.) College Spartan Invitational in North Manchester, Indiana.
The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams competed this morning at the Manchester (Ind.) College Spartan Invitational in North Manchester, Indiana.
For the women, sophomore Brittany Marshall (Canton, Ga./Woodstock) finished in 35th-place (out of 93 runners). She ran the 6K race in 25:49. Freshman Autumn Williams (Albion/Marshall) clocked-in at 28:42. Freshman Kayla Green (Mason) was next at 30:38, followed by senior Christine Cameron (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) in 33:38.
For the men, junior Jordan Dornan (Bangor) placed 12th (out of 74 runners). He covered the 8K course in a 27:13, just seven seconds off the pace of his season-best time. Freshman Brock Hubbard (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) was next in 31:09, followed by sophomore Alex Johnson (Atlantic Mine/Houghton), 31:47; junior Serafin Llerena (Bangor), 32:00; and freshman Brandon Vaughn (Charlotte/Maple Valley), 32:28.
The Comets are now idle for two weeks and will run at the 2009 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships Oct. 31. Adrian College is hosting the meet at Lenawee Christian High School. The women's 6K starts at 11 a.m., followed by the men's 8K at noon.
