Women’s volleyball team earns USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Olivet College women's volleyball team has earned the United States Marine Corp/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.

The award, which began in in the 1992-93 academic year, recognizes volleyball teams that maintain a 3.30 or higher cumulative grade point average (GPA) for the most recently finished academic year.

The Comets posted a 3.40 team GPA during the 2021-22 academic year. Olivet has been a recipient of this award on seven occasions, with 2021-22 being the fourth straight year. The other three times were in 2009-10, 2012-13 and 2013-14.

Olivet is among the 212 NCAA Division III women's teams to earn this honor. In addition, eight of nine Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association schools are recipients of the award.
