The Olivet College volleyball team had a 0-4 record at the Hanover (Ind.) College Panther Invitational. The Comets lost each match in three games.
On Friday evening, Olivet fell to the host Panthers 30-6, 30-11, 30-15, and Anderson (Ind.) University 30-20, 30-21, 30-22. On Saturday, the Comets dropped a 30-12, 30-23, 30-21 decision to Maryville (Tenn.) College and a 30-27, 30-25, 30-27 decision to Tri-State (Ind.) University.
For the tournament, junior Mackenzie Heator (Union City) and sophomore Jennie Malm (Bridgman) each had 27 kills, followed by freshman Lindsay Tarrant (Metamore/Oxford) with 18. Senior Jaime Kowalczyk (Wyandotte/Roosevelt) tallied 12 blocks. Freshman Jenessa Hicks (Union City) recorded a team-high 94 assists. Juniors Ashley Adams (Brighton/Hartland) and Courtney Lewis (Battle Creek/St. Philip) topped the defense with 41 and 39 digs, respectively.
Olivet (1-8) resumes Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play Tuesday, Sept. 11, when it travels to play Saint Mary's (Ind.) College at 7 p.m.
