Women's track and field team has 1-1 record in season-opening MIAA dual meets
The Olivet College women’s track and field team had a 1-1 record in its first two Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association dual meets today at Alma College’s Bahlke Stadium. The Comets defeated Tri-State (Ind.) University, 103-5, and lost to Alma, 122.5-55.5.

Olivet recorded three first-place finishes, including its 4x400-meter relay (4:27.90). Also winning was sophomore Hannah Robbins (Marshall) in the 100-meter hurdles (17.70) and freshman Tonia Ramsey (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) in the discus throw (105'0").
In addition, the Comets took second in six events. The 4x100-meter relay clocked-in at 53.04 seconds. The other runner-up finishes were Ramsey, shot put (33'4"); Robbins, 400-meter hurdles (1:16.12); sophomore Donna Cripe (Vermontville/Maple Valley), 100-meter dash (13.56); freshman Mackenzie Heator (Union City), 400-meter dash (1:08.66); and junior Courtney Ivan (Belleville), javelin (105'10").
Olivet is back in action Saturday, April 8, at the Defiance (Ohio) College Yellow Jacket Open Meet. Action gets under way with field events at 10:30 a.m., and running events at noon.
