Women’s tennis team ends season with 6-3 loss at Albion

ALBION, Mich. – The Olivet College women's tennis team ended the 2017-18 season with a 6-3 loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College today at the Dow Center in Albion.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Britons won the three pro-sets in doubles play before splitting the six singles matches.

FOR THE COMETS

• In doubles, the No. 2 duo of sophomores Miranda Pier and Sydnie Weller lost a close 9-7 pro-set.
• Pier coasted to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles.
• Junior Rae Claramunt won a three-set match at No. 3 singles. After dropping the first set, 6-3, she bounced back to win the next two sets 6-4 and 6-1.
• Weller claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles.
• The Britons won two of the other three singles matches in three sets.
