ALBION, Mich. – The Olivet College women's tennis team was edged by Albion College, 5-4, this afternoon at the Dow Center Courts in Albion.
The Comets got off to a great start by winning 2-of-3 doubles flights. Both the No. 2 duo of freshmen Haley Powers and BreAnne Rudlaff, and the No. 3 duo of junior Lucy McNally and sophomore Isabel Snyder won 8-4 pro-sets.
The Britons won the match by virtue of wins in 4-of-6 singles flights. Rudlaff claimed a 6-4, 6-0 win at the No. 4 position, and McNally earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at the No. 5 position. Snyder dropped a three-set match at No. 6 singles.
Olivet hosts Trine (Ind.) University tomorrow afternoon. First serve from inside the Minges Creek Athletic Complex in Battle Creek is slated for 1 p.m.
