ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College women's team opened its 2014-15 season with losses to Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology, 6-3, and Trine (Ind.) University, 8-1, today in Angola, Ind.
In their first match against Rose-Hulman, junior Lydia Drikakis and freshman Maddy Drikakis posted an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles. Lydia Drikakis then claimed an 8-3 pro-set victory at No. 2 singles. Senior Devan Thomas earned an 8-3 win at No. 6 singles.
Against Trine, the Drikakis sisters secured the Comets' only point at the No. 1 double position. With the pro-set tied at 8-8, they won the match tiebreaker, 10-5.
Olivet continues its fall schedule Thursday afternoon with a 4 p.m. match at Grace (Ind.) College.
