Women’s tennis team loses to Saint Mary’s, 7-2
The women’s tennis team lost 7-2 to MIAA rival Saint Mary’s College this afternoon at the Eck Tennis Pavilion in Notre Dame, Ind.
NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Olivet College women's tennis team lost 7-2 to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Saint Mary's (Ind.) College this afternoon at the Eck Tennis Pavilion in Notre Dame, Ind.
The Comets won one match in each singles and doubles play. In singles, junior Giana Guerra (Lansing/Waverly) improved to 9-2 this season, including an eighth straight win, with a 7-6 (2), 6-4 victory at the No. 2 position. In doubles, the No. 1 duo of sophomore Caitlin LaValley (Battle Creek/Pennfield) and junior Kelsey Singer (Brooklyn/Columbia Central) raised its MIAA record to a perfect 4-0 with an 8-5 pro-set win.
Olivet (8-5, 1-3 MIAA) hosts Kalamazoo College Saturday inside the MSU Tennis Facility in East Lansing. First serve for the doubles matches will be 3 p.m.
