Women’s tennis team ends regular season with 8-1 loss to Saint Mary’s
The Olivet College women’s tennis team wrapped-up the regular season portion of its schedule with an 8-1 loss to Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College this afternoon at MSU Tennis Facility in East Lansing.
The Olivet College women's tennis team wrapped-up the regular season portion of its schedule with an 8-1 loss to Saint Mary's (Ind.) College this afternoon at MSU Tennis Facility in East Lansing.
The Comets' only point came at the No. 1 doubles flight where Giana Guerra (Lansing/Waverly) and Caitlin LaValley (Battle Creek/Pennfield) cruised to an 8-3 win. Sophomore Kelsey Singer (Brooklyn/Columbia Central) lost a tough three-set match. She won the first set, 6-3, before losing 6-2 in the second set and 10-7 in the third-set super-tiebreaker.
Olivet will play the host Hope College Flying Dutch in the first round of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament Friday at 11:30 a.m. The match will be played at Holland Christian High School.
