Women’s tennis team serves up 7-2 win over Alma
The Olivet College women's tennis team swept the three doubles matches and won four-of-six singles matches to beat Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Alma College, 7-2, this afternoon at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility in East Lansing.

In doubles play, the Comets' (5-8, 2-4 MIAA) No. 1 team of freshman Jaclyn Mummaw (Buchanan) and junior Rachel Vilums (Hudsonville) and No. 3 team of junior Jaime Morrison (Marshall) and sophomore Abbie Utberg (Commerce Twp./Walled Lake Central) each picked-up a win three sets. The No. 2 team of juniors Corey Jager (Kalamazoo/Loy Norrix) and Lindsey Struble (Battle Creek) won in straight sets.
The singles points came at the No. 1, 2, 5 and 6 positions. At No. 1, Vilums lost only two games en route to an easy 6-1, 6-1 victory. At No. 2, Mummaw claimed a 6-3, 6-1 win. At No. 5, Morrison also won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. At No. 6, Struble rallied for a three set victory. She won the first set, 7-6, lost the second set, 6-4, and bounced back to win the third set, 6-3.
Olivet is now idle until Friday, April 21, when it travels to play Anderson (Ind.) University at 3:30 p.m.
