The women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Alma College today at the Superior Street Tennis Complex in Alma.
The women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Alma College today at the Superior Street Tennis Complex in Alma.
Sophomore Rachel Vilums (Hudsonville) had a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles. Sophomore Jaime Morrison (Marshall) won at No. 4 singles. In doubles, the No. 1 tandem of Vilums and freshman Abbie Utberg (Commerce Twp./Walled Lake Central) picked-up a 6-3, 6-4 win.
Freshman Lacey Ferro (Jonesville) and Kelli Roe (Galesburg-Augusta) played an exhibition doubles match. After losing the first set 7-5, the duo won the second set, 6-1 and won the match via a 10-4 super-tiebreaker.
The Lady Comets (8-6, 1-2 MIAA) will return to the courts tomorrow when they travel to play Spring Arbor University at 4 p.m.
