Tennis team participates in TSU Thunder Classic
The women's tennis team participated in the Tri-State University (TSU) Thunder Doubles Classic today at the Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek.
The women's tennis team participated in the Tri-State University (TSU) Thunder Doubles Classic today at the Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek. The classic was a round-robin tournament with four doubles flights. TSU, Olivet, Aquinas College and Kalamazoo Valley Community College (KVCC) were the four participating schools.
At the No. 3 flight, sophomore Danielle Post (Marshall) and freshman Stephanie Pott (Kalamazoo/Mattawan) picked-up two victories. They defeated the tandem from KVCC, 8-6 and the TSU tandem, 8-4.
Sophomore Jaime Morrison (Marshall) and freshman Abbie Utberg (Commerce Twp./Walled Lake Central) also won two matches in the No. 4 flight. They won 8-1 over TSU and 8-5 over KVCC. The Lady Comets' No. 1 duo of sophomores Lindsey Struble (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) and Rachel Vilums (Hudsonville) had one victory, 8-6 over TSU.
Olivet is next in action Wednesday, March 23, when it travels to play Saint Mary's (Ind.) College. It is the 2005 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener for both teams.
