Mann named MIAA Swimmer of the Week
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College sophomore Jennifer Mann has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Swimmer of the Week.
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College sophomore Jennifer Mann has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Swimmer of the Week.
In the Comets' season-opening win over Aquinas College, Mann took first-place in two individual events and swam legs of both relays which posted the fastest time. Individually, she broke the Upton Center Pool record with a personal-best time of 10:54.12 in the 1,000-yard freestyle and followed that with a time of 5:17.81 in the 500-yard freestyle. Mann recorded the fastest breaststroke split (32.33) in leading Olivet to a first-place time of 2:00.54 in the 200-yard medley relay and anchored the 200-yard freestyle relay with the fastest split (25.74) of the race.
Olivet competes Friday night at the 2021 MIAA Relays. Action inside the Venema Aquatic Center in Grand Rapids gets under way at 5 p.m.
