The Olivet College women's swimming and diving team fell to Calvin College, 176-69, this afternoon at the Venema Aquatic Center in Grand Rapids.
The Comets had three event winners. Sophomore Caitlin Lohr (Holland/Hamilton) took first-place in the 50 freestyle, finishing in a season-best time of 25.07 seconds. She was second in the 100 freestyle (:56.83). Sophomore Megan Waschak (Battle Creek/Central) won the three-meter diving competition by 1:15 points, 250.05-248.90, and narrowly lost the one-meter diving competition by 1.55 points, 272.50-270.95.
Freshman Erica Schlabach (Goshen, Ind./Northridge) tied Calvin's Kelley Barr for the fastest time in the 200 individual medley. Both swimmers finished in 2:22.01. Freshman Rachael Sanders (Brownstown/Woodhaven) was second in the 100 breaststroke (season-best 1:19.06).
Olivet hosts Saint Mary's (Ind.) College next Saturday, Jan. 16 at 1 p.m.
