The Comets recorded seven first-place finishes, including three student-athletes win two events each. The first double winner was Amy Johnson (Gaylord) as she won the 50- and 100-yard freestyle in :25.40 and :54.77, respectively. She was also second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.42).
Also winning twice was Jackie Taylor (Plainwell), touching the wall first in both backstroke events. Her time in the 100 was 1:02.67 and 2:13.29 in the 200. Courtney Mich (Bay City/Western) finished first on the one- and three-meter diving boards, scoring 236.40 and 197.15 points, respectively. Laura Herzog (St. Joseph) took first-place in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:14.52.
Olivet is now idle until the 2007 MIAA Championships Feb. 8-10 at the Jenison High School Aquatics Center.
