Olivet College’s Leon earns All-Region honors from NSCAA
Olivet College junior forward Isabelle Leon has earned 2015 All-Central Region third-team honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College sophomoreforward Isabelle Leon has earned 2015 All-Central Region third-team honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
This season, Leon started all 20 games and led the Comets in scoring with 23 points. Her 10 goals also topped the team, while her three assists tied for the team lead. Leon scored six game-winning goals, which all came in six consecutive wins for Olivet. Twice, she collected four points in a game – the first time with an assist and goal in a 3-1 win over Saint Mary's (Ind.) College and the second time with a pair of goals in a 4-0 shutout against Trine (Ind.) University.
A few weeks ago, Leon was named first-team All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Teammate Deanna Zolnoski joined her on the first-team, giving the Comets two first-team selections for the first time in the same season in school history. Leon helped Olivet finish the 2015 season with an 11-6-3 overall record and advanced to the MIAA Tournament for the first time since 2010 with a fourth-place finish and 8-5-3 record.
