Women’s soccer team defeated by Adrian, 4-1
The Olivet College women’s soccer team was defeated by Adrian College, 4-1, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contest this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team was defeated by Adrian College, 4-1, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contest this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
The Comets grabbed a 1-0 lead only two minutes and 29 seconds into the game. Sophomore Emily Chrzasz (Livonia/Stevenson) fired a shot at the goalkeeper, who stopped the ball but could not control it. Sophomore Alexis Nichols (Lapeer/East) gathered the rebound and sent a shot into the net at the near post.
The Bulldogs responded with a pair of goals in a span of less than two minutes. Adrian added another goal in the 27th minute to take a 3-1 halftime lead. The score stayed that way until there was 22:23 left when the Bulldogs capped their scoring. Olivet's best scoring chance came in the 87th minute when Chrzasz's shot was punched over the cross bar by the keeper.
For the game, the Comets took 10 shots, placing four on-goal. Sophomore Jordyn Mackool (Berkley) led the way with three shots, with two on-goal. Senior Lindsey Winters (Plymouth/Canton) and freshman Amber Hamad (Peoria, Ariz./Sunrise Mountain) each had two shots. Sophomore Deanna Zolnoski (Macomb/Henry Ford II) played all 90 minutes in goal. She faced 19 total shots and made three saves.
Olivet is off until next Wednesday, Oct. 16, when it travels to play Kalamazoo College at 7 p.m.
