Women’s soccer team falls to Kalamazoo, 2-1

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Freshman Patty Groh (Mason) made 10 saves in goal, but the Olivet College women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at Kalamazoo College today in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association contest.
After a scoreless first half, the Hornets scored their first goal just two minutes, 25 seconds into second half. Kalamazoo stretched its lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 52nd minute. The Comets broke up the shutout in the 73rd minute when sophomore Lindsey Winters (Plymouth/Canton) scored a goal. Sophomore Mary Lamp (Alpena) received credit for an assist.
For the game, five different Olivet players recorded a shot and all five were placed on-goal. Groh played the entire game in goal.
Olivet will be on the road Saturday when it plays Calvin College at noon.
