NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Olivet College women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Saint Mary's (Ind.) College in its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) opener today at the SMC Soccer Field in Notre Dame, Indiana.
Jordan Diffenderfer put the Belles up 1-0 with a goal in the 35th minute. With just under a minute left in the opening, Maddie Meckes scored to make the score 2-0. Meckes closed the scoring with a goal in the 79th minute.
The Comets took seven shots, including two on-goal by sophomore Lindsey Winters (Plymouth/Canton). Five others each recorded one shot. Freshman Patty Groh (Mason) played all 90 minutes in goal, faced 18 saves and collected seven saves.
Olivet (0-5, 0-1 MIAA) will travel to play defending MIAA champion Alma College Saturday at noon.
