Women’s soccer team falls to Maryville, 4-1
The Olivet College women's soccer team came back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to tie the game before Maryville (Tenn.) College scored three unanswered goals to beat the Comets, 4-1, today in the second day of competition at the Rhodes Lynx Classic.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Olivet College women's soccer team came back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to tie the game before Maryville (Tenn.) College scored three unanswered goals to beat the Comets, 4-1, today in the second day of competition at the Rhodes Lynx Classic.
The Scots took a 1-0 lead with a goal at the 28:54 mark when Amber Ortiz found the back of the net off an assist from Phoebe Lee. The score remained 1-0 at the halftime break. The Comets tied the game at 1-1 on sophomore Lindsey Winters' (Plymouth/Canton) unassisted goal in the 59th minute. Maryville went ahead 2-1 with a goal in the 76th minute and then scored two goals in the final nine minutes, 32 seconds of the game.
The Comets were limited to five shots, including four on-goal. Winters took four shots, placing three on-goal. Freshman goalkeeper Patty Groh (Mason) faced 28 shots and made 10 saves.
Olivet (0-2) is idle until Friday when it plays at John Carroll (Ohio) University at 5 p.m. The Comets will stay Friday night in the Cleveland area and play at Case Western Reserve University Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
