ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Olivet College women's soccer team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Adrian College 2-1 today at Performance Stadium in Adrian.
The Bulldogs scored the first goal just five minutes, 15 seconds into the game on Sam Barker's shot from 30 yards out and into the top, right corner of the goal. The score stayed 1-0 at halftime. After Adrian took a 2-0 lead with a goal in the 51st minute, the Comets answered with a goal at the 59:47 mark when junior Lizzy Julian (Mattawan) buried a shot into the goal.
After being held without a shot in the first half, Olivet finished the game with eight, including five on-goal. Julian topped the team with two shots, while six others each had one. In goal, senior Alyssa Budros (Traverse City/Central) faced 11 shots and made three saves.
Olivet makes the trip to play Saint Mary's (Ind.) College next Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 4 p.m.
