Colby named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week in women’s soccer
Olivet College junior goalkeeper Megan Colby (Sparta/Cedar Springs) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week in women's soccer.
Colby recorded 31 saves, including 25 in the second half, as the Comets battled to a 1-1 double overtime draw against Grove City (Pa.) College Saturday, Sept. 12, at the John Carroll (Ohio) University Classic. For her performance, she was named to the all-tournament team.
For the season, Colby has started three games and played 290 minutes in goal. She has allowed four goals for a 1.24 goals against average, while making 43 saves.
Olivet (1-3-1) will play three home non-conference games this week, beginning Wednesday when it plays Manchester (Ind.) College at 4 p.m. On Friday, the Comets host Anderson (Ind.) University and on Sunday, they play University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, with both games starting at noon.
