Olivet College’s Judge ready to compete NCAA Wrestling National Championships
Olivet College senior Jesse Judge is ready to compete Friday in the 285-pound bracket at the 2016 NCAA Division III National Wrestling Championships. The championships are taking place at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with Cornell College serving as the official host.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Olivet College senior Jesse Judge is ready to compete Friday in the 285-pound bracket at the 2016 NCAA Division III National Wrestling Championships. The championships are taking place at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with Cornell College serving as the official host.
Judge did not receive a top eight seed for the championships. He will wrestle No. 2 seed Zachery Roseberry from Delaware Valley State (Pa.) in his first match Friday morning around 11 a.m. CST. The winner advances to face Will Porter from John Carroll (Ohio) University on Friday night. The loser will drop into consolation bracket and will face an undetermined opponent.
Judge is making his first trip to the national championships. He enters the tournament with a 28-9 overall record after placing second at the 2016 NCAA DIII Midwest Regional Feb. 27 at Wabash (Ind.) College. Seventeen of Judge's win this season have been by pin.
