Brissette and Therrian named Mid-States Conference Coaches of the Year
At the conclusion of the Mid-States Conference Tournament Feb. 11, it was announced Olivet Head Wrestling Coach Brandon Brissette was named the conference’s Co-Coach of the Year, and his assistant Jeff Therrian was selected as the Assistant Coach of the Year.
OLIVET, Mich. – At the conclusion of the Mid-States Conference Tournament Feb. 11, it was announced Olivet Head Wrestling Coach Brandon Brissette was named the conference's Co-Coach of the Year, and his assistant Jeff Therrian was selected as the Assistant Coach of the Year.
Brissette is in his third season leading the Comets and also earned Mid-States Coach of the Year honors in 2011. This season, he has helped Olivet climb to a No. 7 ranking in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) poll. In addition, Olivet finished its dual match season with an 18-5 record, with the 18 wins being the most since the 1999-2000 season.
Therrian is in his sixth season as an assistant coach at Olivet. He also earned Assistant Coach of the Year honors in 2009 and 2011.
