The first day of the 2010 Pete Willson Invitational at Wheaotn (Ill.) College is complete. Three Olivet College wrestlers have advanced to Saturday's second day of action.

The first day of the 2010 Pete Willson Invitational at Wheaotn (Ill.) College is complete. Three Olivet College wrestlers have advanced to Saturday's second day of action.
Juniors Vince Tucker (Clio) and Adam Wilson (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) are still alive in the championship bracket, while sophomore Trevor Tyler (Roscommon) is still alive in the consolation bracket.
- The No. 7 seed at 133 pounds, Wilson posted a 3-0 record today. In the first round, he defeated Brian Reier from University of Wis.-Eau Claire by technical fall (15-0). He Wilson then beat Kyle Kleuskens from University of Wis.-Oshkosh. In the quarterfinals, Wilson upset No. 2 seed Ethan Harris from University of Indianapolis, 4-2. He will wrestle No. 6 seed Brandon Kircher from University of Wisconsin-Parkside in the semifinals.
- The No. 1 seed at 141 pounds, Tucker had the easier route to the semifinals. He received a bye in the first round and then earned a default victory in the second round. Tucker beat Eric Meyer from College of Mt. St. Joseph (Ohio), 12-6, in the quarterfinals. He will face Mike Magawa from Parkside in the semifinals.
- Unseeded at 174 pounds, Tyler won his first round match, 12-1, over Josh Nord from Concordia (Minn.) University to set-up a match against No. 1 seed Luke Rynish from Parkside. Rynish won, 12-3, to drop him into the consolation bracket. In his first consolation bracket match, Tyler defeated Nolan Karwoski from Mt. St. Joseph, 8-1. He then pinned Mike Frasure from Muskingum (Ohio) College in 5:44 in the next round. Tyler will wrestle Greg Rhoads from Wabash (Ind.) College in the next round.
