Wrestling team finishes in seventh-place at Pete Willson Invitational
The Olivet College wrestling team finished in seventh-place at the 2007 Pete Willson Invitational. The two-day invitational was hosted by Wheaton (Ill.) College. The Comets, ranked 18th in the latest NWCA Top 30 poll, scored 68 points.

Univ. of Wisconsin.-LaCrosse was first with 146.5 points, followed by University of Indianapolis, 134; Elmhurst (Ill.), 100; North Central (Ill.), 100; Univ. of Wisconsin-Parkside, 94; and Univ. of Wisconsin-Whitewater, 69.5.
Five Olivet wrestlers placed in the top eight. Senior Ken Andrews (Swartz Creek) was the highest finisher as he placed third at 157 pounds. For the weekend, he had a 5-1 record, including three wins against nationally-ranked opponents.
Freshman Joe Yurisich (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) placed fourth at 197 pounds with a 5-2 record, including a consolation bracket win against the defending NCAA Division III national champion.
Junior 184-pounder Daron Cruickshank (Inkster/John Glenn) had a 4-2 record to finish in fifth-place. Freshman heavyweight Sean Misko (Richmond) and sophomore 165-pounder Jason Brew (Sparta) were seventh and eighth, respectively.
The Comets are back in action Thursday, Feb. 1, when they host Muskegon Community College. Prior to the varsity action at 7 p.m., the Olivet junior varsity team will wrestle against Mott Community College at 6 p.m.
