Wrestling team defeats Lawrence and Milwaukee School of Engineering
The wrestling team defeated Lawrence (WIsc.) University and Milwaukee (Wisc.) School of Engineering (MSOE) this evening at MSOE’s Kern Center. The Fighting Comets beat the host Raiders, 18-15, and Lawrence, 28-13.

Against Lawrence, Olivet won six of 10 matches. The biggest win was by junior 184-pounder Ryan Newberry (South Haven), who picked-up a 3-1 victory against Ben Ditcus. Ditcus entered the match ranked second at 184 pounds in the latest Brute/adidas National Wrestling Coaches Association individual rankings.
Against the host Raiders, the Comets also won six matches. With the team score tied at 15-15, senior heavyweight Ryan Tiseo (Washington/Romeo) posted a 6-4 decision over Bill Fank.
After the two victories, Olivet moves its record to 6-1 on the season. For the day, Comet double winners were Newberry and Tiseo along with junior 133-pounder Kefentse Mandisa (Westland/John Glenn) and senior 174-pounder Todd Miller (Casnovia/Kent City).
The Comets will remain in Wisconsin and compete at the MSOE Invitational tomorrow. Action begins at 10 a.m. EST.
