Women’s Golf: Olivet places 16th at IWU Fall Classic

NORMAL, Ill. –The University of Olivet women's golf team placed 16th at the 2023 Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Classic. The two-day, 36-hole event took place at the Ironwood Golf Club.

• After shooting a 351 in Saturday's first round, the Comets shaved 17 strokes off their score in today's second with a 334 to give them a two-round total of 685 strokes.
• Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) edged the host Titans by three strokes, 584 to 587, for the tournament title.
• Sydney Kuo from Washington University carded a three-under total of 141 strokes.

• Senior Rayna Honsowitz and junior Rylee Honsowitz shot matching 164s to top Olivet. Rayna had an 87 in the first round before improving by 10 strokes in the second round with a career-low 77. The round included three birdies, seven pars and eight bogies. Rylee had back-to-back 82s.
• Sophomore Ella LaMothe finished with a 166 (84-82).
• sophomore Sedona Bonter posted a two-round total of 191 (98-93) strokes.
• freshman Breanna Ramos tallied a 231 (117-114).

• The Comets are idle until Wednesday, September 27, when they compete at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree #2. Calvin University is hosting the jamboree at the Thornapple Pointe Golf Club.
