JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The Olivet College women's golf team finished in 21st-place the 2018 Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate Tournament, played at the Indian Mound Golf Course in Jekyll Island, Georgia.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Comets completed the tournament with a three-round total of 1,045 strokes. Olivet dropped strokes off its team score each day, shooting a 359 in the first round, 349 in the second round and 337 in today's final round.
  • Claremont Mudd Scripps (Calif.) had a wire-to-wire lead on the team leaderboard, finishing with a three-day total of 913 strokes.
  • Phoebe Nguyen from Whitman (Wash.) College was the tournament medalist with a 214 (71-68-75). She was the only player to finish with an under-par total.

FOR THE COMETS

  • Sophomore Nicole Deweyert had the Comets' low score in today's round with an 82, including a 39 on the front nine. She posted a three-round total of 252 strokes.
  • Freshman Crystal Lettinga lowered her score by four strokes in each round for a three-day total of 261 strokes. She had a 91 in the first round, followed by an 87 in the second round and an 83 in today's third round.
  • Sophomore Taylor Elley completed today's round in 84 strokes to give her a three-round total of 264 strokes. She improved her score in each round, shooting a 91 in the first round and an 89 in the second round.
  • Junior Hayley Cooper carded an 88 today for a three-day total of 268 strokes.
