Olivet College’s Kastamo and Langer selected to WGCA All-American Scholar Team
Olivet College women’s golfers, Brooke Kastamo and Kirstin Langer, have been selected to the 2015-16 Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team.
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Olivet College women's golfers, Brooke Kastamo and Kirstin Langer, have been selected to the 2015-16 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team. Kastamo and Langer graduated fom Olivet in May.
The criteria for selection are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The student-athlete must have a a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average (GPA) and she must have also competed in 66 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds.
An exercise science major, Kastamo finished her collegiate career with a 3.972 GPA. A biology major, Langer ended her career with a 3.9817 GPA. The duo helped the Comets place second in the 2015 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) championship standings. Kastamo was a four-time All-MIAA selection, including a first-team pick in 2014 and 2015. Both are also now four-time selections to the WGCA All-American Scholar team.
