Olivet College’s Damico is MIAA Women’s Golfer of the Week
Olivet College senior Theresa Damico (White Lake/Lakeland) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women’s Golfer of the Week.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College senior Theresa Damico (White Lake/Lakeland) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Golfer of the Week. She is earning the honor for the second this season and the sixth time in her career.
Damico posted a two-round score of 154 strokes, 78 and 76, to finish in second-place in the player standings at the 2013 O'Brein National Invitational at the Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Indiana. Her performance helped the Comets placed second in the team standings behind one nationally-ranked team but ahead of three other ranked schools. Damico had four birdies in the tournament and an even par score on the par 5 holes.
Olivet begins defense of its MIAA championship tomorrow afternoon it plays the first of six league rounds. The round is being hosted by Albion College and played at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
