Women’s golf team finishes in second-place at MIAA Jamboree #4
The women’s golf team finished in second-place at the MIAA Jamboree #4 today at the Lenawee Country Club.
ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Olivet College women's golf team finished in second-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #4 today at the Lenawee Country Club in Adrian.
The Comets posted a 345 team score, which was 20 strokes behind first-place Saint Mary's (Ind.) College. Hope was third at 356, followed by Trine (Ind.) 362, Adrian 369, Albion 373, Calvin 396, Alma 407 and Kalamazoo 420. With their win, the Belles increase their lead in the league's seasonal standings to 24 strokes, 1,324-1,348. The rest of the standings remain unchanged with Hope in third at 1,399, followed by Albion 1,446, Trine 1,462, Adrian 1,490, Alma 1,561, Calvin 1,572 and Kalamazoo 1,729.
Today, freshman Theresa Damico (White Lake/Lakeland) tied for third in the player standings with an 83. Senior Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) was sixth at 85. Junior Lauren Campbell (Fenton) and senior Abby Wheeler (Grayling) were separated by one stroke at 88 and 89, respectively. Freshman Adrienne Jones (Redford/Thurston) completed her round in 94 strokes.
The final two-day MIAA championship rounds are next Friday and Saturday, Oct. 8-9, at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.
