Women’s golf team finishes in third-place at DePauw Small College Classic
The Olivet College women’s golf team finished in third-place (out of 16 schools) at the two-day DePauw (Ind.) University Small College Classic at the Deer Creek Golf Course in Clayton, Indiana. After Saturday’s first round was suspended because of lightning, the teams completed it today and then played the scheduled second round.

The Comets had a two-round total of 661 (333-328) strokes. Saint Mary's (Ind.) College won the team title with a 635 (315-320), while the host Tigers were second at 653 (327-326).
Senior Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) was Olivet's top finisher, as she placed fourth in the player standings with a 159 (81-78). Junior Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) shot a two-round total of 166 (84-82) strokes. Sophomore Lauren Campbell (Fenton) and junior Abby Wheeler (Grayling) each posted a 168.
The Comets will now turn their attention to the final four rounds of their Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. They will play a jamboree at Kalamazoo's Milham Park Golf Course Thursday and Saint Mary's Blackthorne Golf Course Saturday. Both jamborees start at 1 p.m. The final two rounds will be played Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9-10, at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek. Olivet sits second in the league seasonal standings, 11 strokes behind Saint Mary's.
