Women’s golf team shatters course record and wins MIAA Jamboree #2
The Olivet College women’s golf team shattered the course records and won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree #2 this afternoon at Macatawa Legends Country Club and Golf Course in Holland.

The Comets posted a 318 team score to beat Saint Mary's (Ind.) College by four strokes and break the MIAA course record. Olivet and Trine shared the old record with a 341 during the 2006 season. The rest of today's team scores were Hope, 335; Trine, 361; Calvin, 362; Alma, 370; Albion, 373; Kalamazoo, 389; and Adrian, 408.
Olivet senior Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) earned tournament medalist honors, as she shattered the course record with a 75. The previous record was an 83 by both Trisha McKim and Stephanie Nicolai in 2006. Junior Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) shot a 79, which placed her in a three-way tie for second in the players. Junior Abby Wheeler (Grayling) was next in a tie for fifth at 81, followed by sophomore Lauren Campbell (Fenton) at 83
With the finish, Olivet shaves four strokes off the Belles' lead in the MIAA seasonal standings and now trail by just 11 strokes, 639-650. Hope maintains third-place at 676.
The Comets take a break from league play this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26-27, when they participate in the DePauw University Small College Classic at the Deer Creek Golf Club in Clayton, Indiana.
