Women’s golf team places second at Anderson Invitational
The Olivet College women’s golf team placed second (out of nine schools) at the Anderson (Ind.) University Invitational, which was played at the Killbuck Golf Course.
The Olivet College women's golf team placed second (out of nine schools) at the Anderson (Ind.) University Invitational, which was played at the Killbuck Golf Course.
The Comets posted a two-round total of 643 strokes (327-316). DePauw (Ind.) University was the team champion with a 635, while Franklin (Ind.) College was third at 649.
Senior Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) paced Olivet and was the tournament medalist with back-to-back 76s for a two-round total of 152. Sophomore Lauren Campbell (Fenton) had a 157 (81-76), while junior Abby Wheeler (Grayling) posted a 166 (79-87). Junior Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) shot a 168 (91-77).
The Comets are back in action next Friday and Saturday, Sept. 11-12, when they host their own invitational at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall. Both days are shotgun start, Friday at 2 p.m., and Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
