Women’s golf team is runner-up, again, at MIAA Jamboree #4
For the third time this fall, the Olivet College women’s golf team has finished in second-place at a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree. Today’s fourth jamboree was at the Blackthorn Golf Course in South Bend, Indiana.

The Comets also posted their second straight 329 team score, only two strokes behind the host Belles. Hope came in third-place at 331, followed by Trine, 356; Calvin, 358; Albion, 367; Alma, 374; Kalamazoo, 389; and Adrian, 402. The medalist was Hope's Megan Scholten with a 77.
Senior Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) and junior Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) each needed 81 strokes to complete their round. Sophomore Lauren Campbell (Fenton) had an 83, while junior Abby Wheeler (Grayling) was one stroke behind at 84.
With two MIAA rounds left to play, Saint Mary's leads the seasonal standings by 17 strokes, 1,291-1,308. Hope is third at 1,355, followed by Trine (1,444), Calvin (1,481), Albion (1,503), Kalamazoo (1,546), Alma (1,553) and Adrian (1,639).
The final two rounds of the 2009 MIAA season will take place next Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9-10, at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.
