Women’s golf team finishes in second at MIAA Jamboree #3
The Olivet College women’s golf team finished in second at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #3 today at Milham Park Golf Course in Kalamazoo. With the finish, Olivet maintains second-place in the league’s seasonal standings.

The Comets had a 329 team score to trail Saint Mary's (Ind.) College by just four strokes. Hope was third at 348, followed by Calvin, 372; Trine, 373; Kalamazoo, 391; Albion, 392; Alma, 405; and Adrian, 417.
Senior Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) was second in the player standings with a five-over-par 77. Sophomore Lauren Campbell (Fenton) tied for third-place with an 82. Junior Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) was a part of a four-way tie for sixth-place with an 84. Junior Abby Wheeler (Grayling) tied for 11th with an 86.
Saint Mary's leads the seasonal standings by 15 strokes, 964-979. Hope is a distant third at 1,024.
The Comets will participate in the fourth league jamboree Saturday at Saint Mary's home course, Blackthorne Golf Course, in South Bend, Indiana. Action gets under way with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The final two rounds to determine the 2009 MIAA champion will be Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9-10, at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.
