The Olivet College women's golf team stands in 12th-place after the third round of the 2010 NCAA Division III National Championships at the El Campeon Golf Course and Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. The fourth and final day of the championships is tomorrow, as the Comets will begin teeing off at 9 a.m.
Olivet posted a 353 team score in today's third round and have a three-day total of 1,043 strokes, which is just one stroke behind Schreiner (Texas) University and 13 strokes behind Centre (Ky.) College and George Fox (Ore.) University, who are tied for ninth at 1,030. Methodist (N.C.) University leads the 20-team field with a 965.
For today's round, sophomore Lauren Campbell (Fenton) paced the Comets with an 86 and leads the team with a three-round total of 252 strokes. Junior Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) and senior Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) each had an 87. Conrad has totaled 257 strokes, while Rimmel is three strokes behind at 260. Junior Abby Wheeler (Grayling) completed today's round in 93 strokes and has a three-day total of 274.
