Women’s golf team wins MIAA Jamboree #2
The Olivet College women’s golf team captured the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #2 today at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola. With the win, the Comets widen their lead in the 2007 MIAA seasonal standings to 14 strokes.

Today, Olivet recorded a team score of 329 strokes, followed by Saint Mary's and Tri-State at 333 and 338, respectively. After two league outings, the Comets have totaled 664 strokes. Saint Mary's is second at 678.
Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek), Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) and Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) each shot an 82 to lead Olivet. Senior Amanda Sanders (Concord) was one stroke behind at 83, and junior Trisha McKim (DeWitt) was a stroke behind Sanders at 84.
Three individuals also played for the Comets. Senior Jen Lambarth (Saline) led the trio with an 82, followed by freshman Abby Wheeler (Grayling) at 83 and sophomore Katie Misko (Alma) at 88.
Olivet is back on the golf course this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 15-16, when it travels to Bloomington, Ill., to participate in the Illinois Wesleyan University Invitational at the Ironwood Golf Course. The third league outing is Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Bucks Run Golf Course in Alma.
