The Olivet College women’s golf team placed second at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Playoff Round #2, which was played at the Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.

Playing in winds gusting to more than 30 mph, the Comets posted a 350 team score. Saint Mary's (Ind.) College took first-place with a 347. Entering tomorrow's final qualifying round, Olivet has a 15-stroke, 669-684, lead over Saint Mary's. The winner will receive the MIAA's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships May 13-16 in Waverly, Iowa.
Sophomore Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) and senior Amanda Sanders (Concord) tied for third-place in the player standings with 87s. Freshman Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) and junior Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) each had an 88. Junior Trisha McKim (DeWitt) needed 93 strokes to complete her round.
Tomorrow's final round will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start at The Medalist.
