Women's golf team in 11th-place after second day of NCAA Championships
The Olivet College women’s golf team is in 11th-place after the second day of the NCAA Division III National Championships at the El Campeon Golf Course at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. Tomorrow’s third round begins for Olivet with an 8:20 a.m. tee time.

After posting a 352 team score in Tuesday's first round, the Comets had an identical 352 team score today for a two-round total of 704 strokes. Olivet is only five strokes behind ninth-place Allegheny (Pa.) College and four strokes behind 10th-place Williams (Mass.) College. Methodist (N.C.) University is first at 612 strokes.
In today's round, sophomore Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) led the Comets with an 86. Following her were senior Kristy Latimer (Battle Creek/Harper Creek), 87; freshman Megan Rimmel (Ithaca), 89; sophomore Trisha McKim (DeWitt), 90; and senior Stephanie Nicolai (Shelbyville/Wayland Union), 96. Latimer was the only golfer to birdie the 18th hole in today's round, while Rimmel birdied the 17th hole.
Pipkin has a two-round total of 171 strokes to stand in a tie for 35th-place in the player standings. Latimer is next at 174, followed by McKim, 179; Nicolai, 187; and Rimmel, 190.
