Olivet set to participate in the 2007 NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Championships
he Olivet College women’s golf team has received the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s (MIAA) automatic bid to the 2007 NCAA Division III National Championships May 8-11. The championships will be conducted at the El Campeon Golf Course at the Mission Inn and Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. Ogelthorpe University and the Central Florida Sports Commission will serve as hosts.

The Comets, ranked No. 17 in the latest golfstat.com NCAA Head-to-Head rankings, earned the automatic bid after winning the MIAA's playoff this spring, posting a three-round total of 1,019 strokes. Last fall, Olivet captured the MIAA Championship.
The NCAA Women's Golf Committee selected 20 teams and 11 individuals to participate in the national championships. Eleven conferences were granted automatic qualification and the remaining nine teams were selected on an at-large basis from conferences and the remaining independent institutions.
