Women's golf team wins the 2005 O.C. Fall Invitational

The Olivet College women's golf team captured the team title today at the 2005 O.C Fall Invitational at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.

The Comets carded a two-day team score of 707 (354-353) strokes to finish ahead of Tri-State (Ind.) University, who finished at 716 (356-360). Albion College was third at 735 (377-358), followed by Hope College at 741 (377-364).

Leading the way for Olivet was junior Stephanie Nicolai (Shelbyville/Wayland Union), who tied for fifth overall with a 173 (85-88). Junior Kristy Latimer (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) and freshman Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) were next as each had a 181. Senior Katie Edick (Charlotte) carded a 182 (94-88). Sophomore Jennifer Lambarth (Saline) rounded out the Comet lineup with a 184 (85-99).

Olivet will host the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree #2 on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at The Medalist. Play begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
